The AC system is driven by belt that ties into the engine. It is normal for the car performance level to decrease when the AC is on. That's also why in a true sports car, there is no AC.

Car with manual trany works a bit better.

: the car seems to stumble with ac on when you take off from a complete stop it seems like it needs to gulp some air...what is the cause...any fix or bandaid
