Well, not exactly. The recycle will stay on if the
engine's only been shut off for a short while
(5-10 mins). Longer than that, then it will be
off when you re-start.

I posted this same gripe a little while back, and
one of the responses explained it very well--
if it's only been a short while, the air inside
will still be about the same temp, therefore you'd
want to have it continue recycling. But if it's
been longer, say, a couple hours under the hot sun,
the air inside will be hot and stale and you
wouldn't want to recycle it, you'd want to first
replace it with fresh air. The climate control just
tries to automate that for you (though it'd be
nicer if it re-started the recycle mode automatically
after about 5 minutes of driving). It finally made
good sense to me after I thought about it a while.

: That's the way it is. Only the fan speed and temperature setting are memorized. The recycle is off by default when you start the car.

: : : Why does it do that?
: : : It gets annoying since its cold in the morning and I have cold air coming in the car..

: : Hear Hear! Why, if it's supposed to remember my previous settings, does it not turn on in recycle mode? I haven't figured that out either.
