I test drove a 323 sedan recently and was very suprised about it's manual transmission. What stunned me was the travel of the cluch pedal. It was almost like everytime I needed to shift gears I had to press it down first, and then forward. Lots of travel. Is this normal? The overall experience with manual on 323 was just horrible. I really expected it to be different. In my old car I am able to operate the cluch with my foot without lifting the heel, swithing from the footrest to the cluch easily, while in that bimmer I had to lift my whole foot every shift, because otherwise I would not be able to get it on the pedal. Any comments? Is it the same way on 328's?
