: : Just talked to the dealer, and my Bimmer is ready. I'm picking it up by noon tomorrow! Thanks to everyone for providing useful information to this board. You have all saved me time, money and undue effort, and have made for good deal of entertainment.

I went to Gearhart BMW in Denville, NJ. They are a smaller dealer, but they have been very cooperative in addressing my wants and needs. Unlike many other dealers I have dealt with who seem to feel that screwing the customer in order to make a single sale is good policy, Gearhart appears to work under the philosophy that if you are happy with your purchase, you'll be back later for more...

Note that they usually try to ask list price when optioning the car, but if you have solid price information to back you up, they are willing to deal.

If you go, ask for Dave Elliot; very personable and effective.
