: Has anyone done Euro delivery in Texas? Since the car is imported as used one, and comes with German plate, do you pay TAX for registration? Is tax waived for imported used car?
: Secondly, has anyone bought and picked up the Euro delivery car (after it's shipped to US) from a out-of-state dealer, and how does the registration process work. Do you need to do car inspection in Texas?
: I'll buy a car from an Arizona dealer, and need to register it at Texas.
I believe used cars are taxed as well. Its a "new" purchase for you so you will be taxed for it. Sorry. Also, you will need to get it inspected in TX before you can get TT&L done, at least I did. You will be registering the car in Texas when you get your TX plates, so it doesn't matter which state you bought it in. I bought my A4 in OKC, OK and brought it back to TX, had it inspected, and then paid TT&L. And I don't think you can get away from the taxes just because it is imported.
