yeah, that bumper thing made me pause too. I asked the rep at dinan, he said it was serviceable without removing the bumper, but you do need the disassembly to install it. having installed it, there's no way you can service it without removing the bumper, but the good news is "50-100k" service life for the k&N and even better, the bumper comes off in about 10 minutes max. only 2 bolts and a couple of screws, real easy. easier than removing the airbox on my past 525 in fact...
