I just received my first written warning EVER in my wife's silver '99 328i. I had a few other people in the car and didn't notice him (state police) behind me at the light. I was dark. Took off a little quick to pull away from traffic and then I see the lights.. Damn! Pulls me over right after the state police barracks building.

He comes up and tells me that he has a Corvette engine in his car and couldn't keep up. (I think to myself that he should get a supercharger, but wisely don't suggest it.) He takes my license and registration and heads back to his car. My wife and oldest daughter are now laughing like crazy as Dad is about to get ANOTHER ticket..

He comes back and hands me a WARNING! I can't believe it, but try not to act too surprised. He tells me that I have a nice car, but I should show some respect when I have a policeman behind me - specially when passing a barracks!

Whew! :)

BTW - One of my friends is a traffic court judge who gives me advice on getting out of the tickets that I do get. The #1 thing to to: make the encounter forgettable!
