Well unfortuntately the system uses a Win95 (OSR1) os, it handles the stress of on/off better than the newer versions, quite stable and startup time is 20seconds or so. The computer is a P166/16mb with builtin IR and Sound. Its a full fledged computer i have re-cased with my own steel casing and placed in the trunk. Doesnt take up that much space, about the size of an average breifcase. The LCD is run with a plugin for winamp, so is the Gravis. The power for the lcd (5v) is run through the 14ft parallel cable. Hook up of the lcd was a breeze... its a 24x2 LED Backlit display btw, made by Optrex. The system has a 2.5GB mainly for storing the OS, the music comes from an 8x CDROM. Mp3 cd's are made with playlists, and when the disk is inserted, it will autoplay the entire playlist. I have pictures of the trunk/comp too, but its on another camera and the roll isnt finished yet, few more to go... Also the power is done with a DC-DC converter that i made myself, it replaces the bulky comp Psupply, and no need for an inverter. www.arisecomputer.com (ACE-865V) also has one that can be purchased.

If you would like more info on building ur own, www.mp3car.com is a great! place for info. But beware, some ppl do not put much emphasis on a clean setup (such as me:)).. so if u see wires and tacky setup, dont worry. But their information contained is still usefull.

Also in responce to ky about my rover, yes i absolutely love the car. I cant imagine getting anything else! Its a true off-road company with a lot of experience backing their vehicles. The days of the electrical troubled Discovery are gone since BMW took over Land Rover in 95. The dealer sends out invitations every 6months or so, for offroad trail treks (free), that only Land rover folks may attend. No other vehicle offers such things. I did try to get the 4.6HSE, but since i purchased this in September, they did not have ANY 4.6's left, i would have had to wait 4months, so i stuck with 4.0se, no real complaints either. If you want Luxury, capability with a whole lotta prestige to go with it, its gotta be only this choice.

wow that was long... btw... ill update my site with more detailed info and how-to's on the mp3car project... in case u dont know what i have been talking about for the last while, here is the link below.
