The dealer doesn't have anything to do with the security deposits. The finance company will have use of your money during the term of the lease. It is a tool to reduce the rate OR also used to make a deal - if the customer's credit isn't so hot or they are limited in credit then extra security deposits can be required to get the deal done. In this case there would be no rate reduction. Extra security deposits also help the finance company be in a better position should the customer default on the account.
