I placed my order on 10/15, a few days later my rep called and offered me three different cars in colors other than what I had ordered. I refused them, and told her I would wait for the car to be ordered. A week and a half later, I hadn't heard back from her so I called her and she said the car had been ordered. I had heard of some bad experiences with cars not being ordered so I wanted to know which dealer the car was being ordered through. My rep was reluctant to give me the name of the dealer, but after 3 persistent emails she finally told me. I now call the dealer for status code updates. My car was a week 46 production and is waiting for a boat--I should receive it before Xmas. I haven't had good communication from my rep, but I guess it's worth it for the price.
I highly recommend you check out the carOrder.com discussion forum on Edmunds.com under the Smart Shopper category of their discussion lists. Some people have had lots of problems, some have had great experiences.
