...join your local BMWCCA chapter, and log some track time. I've taken ramps at double the posted limit without a bobble from the suspension or a peep from the tires (328i Sport). As much of a zealot as I am, I've been far from getting sideways, because that takes extreme maneuvers, and I'm not trying to put my car in the weeds.
My local chapter routinely has autocrosses, and takes a few trips to the track (Summit Point, WV) during the year. There, you don't have Officer Longarm or bystanders to worry end up in the gravel trap or run over some cones.
Triple-digits down the straight, brake hard for turn 1, wag the tail a bit and countersteer, power out of the turn...woooohoooo!

: Everytime I get the chance, I try to see how much faster I can take turns and corners. So far, I've busted about 70 mph on a banked freeway onramp, but I started to hear the tires squeal so I let off, especially seeing as it was an elevated onramp and there was water about 50 feet below me. On normal city streets, I've taken sharp turns at about 40, almost busted a 180 one time--that was scary. I'm thinking if I can switch my wheels and tires to something that is a 35-series or below sidewall, I'll be in business... So how fast have you guys gone before breaking loose? I would also be interested in any fishtail stories!
