In general, the sedan version of E46 328 is 1 inch longer and 1 inch wider than E36 325 sedan. Plus E46 is a bit rounder than E36 so you get a bit more space at shoulders & arms

E46 328Ci (coupe) is almost 2 inches wider and 2 inches longer than E36 325is (coupe).

E46 Ci (coupe) is almost 1 inch wider and longer than E46 i (sedan)

E46 323 and 328 are the same size as long as you compare sedan to sedan and coupe to coupe.

: Just rode for first time in a 325. I assume the 328 is the upgrade. I found the 325 to be a lot smaller than I thought, and if the 328 is about the same size, then I better find another car to look for. I live in a small town, and so have yet to visit the nearest bmw dealership for eyeball and test drives. Please tell me the 328 is larger, inside and out. Thank you.
