: Since you bought it at Kimberly but live in the Chicago area, are you taking your car to the local dealer to have the adjustments made? Say, Fields maybe, or are you driving back out to see Jeff?
Well, finally picked up our 323i on Wednesday. It was in almost a week ago, but due to delays we only picked it up yesterday. so far, it's awsome.
: We're in the Chicago area, but ended up getting it in Davenport, IA (Kimberly Imports) due to price. I would definitely reccomend Kimberly, specifically, Jeff Vinar, the sales rep for their Import side. Everything was handled perfectly and quickly.
: Chicago area dealers don't really deal that much (and we're closest to Fields, probably the worst of the lot). I don't really blame the Chicago dealers, as I'm sure they can sell all the 323's they can get their hands on...
: The only problem we found during our test drive was a warped (my word) drivers side mirror. It wasn't flat and the reflected image was distorted. They replaced it while we finished off the final paperwork. Everything else was great. On the drive home it progressed from light to dark (200 mile drive) so we were able to test out the Xenons. Very nice, better than expected. The extra UV present in the light really lights up the road lines and signs. Don't believe those who say for (sub)urban driving it is not necessary. We haven't tried in on a rainy road yet, but I suspect it will really help seeing the road lines when the surface wet. The lines seem to glow (a bit, we're not talking neon lines here).
: The only downside we discovered so far is a possible bad speaker on the right side. We tested the audio system during our test drive (left mount trunk CD). It sounded fine, even with moderate+ volumes. On track 8 of the demo CD though, there are some brassy horns which seem to vibrate the right door. From that as a reference, we also noticed a bit of buzz on another CD. I'll have to check it (perhaps burn a left/right mono sample CD) to see if it happens on both sides. I'll also try it indoors :-) Anyone else notice this with the demo CD? This is with standard audio.
: Anyway, having lots of fun.
