I do not care for this feature and found that it could be turned off by moving the left/right mirror selector to the right side position.

Works on my Y2K 328I

: Has anyone had a problem with the passenger side mirror pointing downward automatically when the adjustment selector is turned to the driver side mirror? Then when I return it to the passenger side, the mirror returns to the preselected position.
