I am no glass expert, but the streaking is usually
some oil based item. In you case it may be the cleaning soap you use or the drying towel. If you use a towel, watch what you wash it in and never use a fabric softener in either the wash or dry cycles. Visit carcareonline.com

Try cleaning windshield with a mild solution of
Tide detergent or Cascade dish wash detergent.

: This is starting to bug me. I cannot keep the outside of the windshield from having smears show up. I just washed and cleaned it and aimed it into the sun. It's clear as I would expect. However in 2-3 days it will start having streaks and smears show up on the outside. I've never seen this in any other car. Also the water appears to bead up like it would with Rain-X but I have never used Rain-X. Is there something the dealer added as a "protectant"? Also any hints on the best cleaner would be nice - I've tried ArmorAll Window cleaner, Griots garage and windex. All had the streaks show up a few days later.
