Pressure Washers - long term damage? (archive)

When the weather has been decent, I've been taking my car to this place in Santa Clara where they hand wash your car for $5. They use pressure washers to rinse the car, and I'm wondering as to the long term effects. They're a lot stronger than hose attachments. Any thoughts?
