Performance Question on 323ci(please input) (archive)

Is it me or is the 323ci with step kinda slow and sluggish?? I use to drive a 99 Accord Coupe V6 ex, and it seems to me that the Accord accelerates much faster then my new 323ci.. BMW said that the 323ci with step 0-60 time is 8.1.. Is this true?? Also how should I improve the acceleration of my 323ci without voiding any warranties?? Maybe I should have gotten a 328ci with sport and xenon, oh well.. Thanks
