Before I ordered my 323Ci, I was lucky to drive both step and stick. I drove step first and thought it was pretty peppy but not propelling. Then I got to do the manual. I found an appreciable difference driving the stick--much quicker and sure-footed. I had considered getting the step because of all the moving-parking-lot traffic in the D.C. area, but after the test drives, decided to go stick.
