Tirerack.com has extensive testing and comparisons. Here's what I've come up with so far:

I chose that cost is not going to be a factor, so I looked at "maximum performance" tires on the Tirerack site. At the same time, I drive about 25,000 miles a year, so I didn't want to buy a super soft tire that would only give me 15,000 miles or so. My principle aim was to elevate the handling of my car to the point where I could keep the 16" Premium Package wheels (which I think are beautiful)and not be tempted to spend $2000 on a 17" wheel package.

So I looked for max performance tires that had treadwear ratings of 200 or above but AA traction ratings. I narrowed it down pretty quickly to the BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW, the Bridgestone S-02 Pole Position, and the Michelin Pilot Sports. Ultimately, I chose the Michelins because they seemed to offer the best combination of handling and reasonable treadwear. Now all I need to do is come up with the $200/tire that is necessary to purchase them!
