Man thats a bummer. I would wait and see how well it turns out. Make sure to look at the area in bright daylight! This will show any flaws in the repair. Look from all angles, also you might want to drive it under some bright fluorescent lights, which also will show flaws.
A pro can touch up chips so well you so would never know. Metallic paints are trickier, so you should be ok. I would much prefer spot touch up than a panel repaint. You might want to make them note this repair in writing, so later on if there are problems, you can have some recourse.
