I have been asked to re-post the aluminum pedal installation...so here it is again. They do offer excellent foot control and make heel & toeing easier since they over-hang the original pedals slightly. I think they would look super if you have the aluminum trim dash (I don't).
The BMW aluminum pedal kit would be easy to install if they actually had some instructions on how to remove the accelerator pedal; so I've included some pictures to help others.
The kit comes with drilling templates and a new accelerator pedal. They say to discard the old pedal. (Go figure) To remove the accelerator pedal you need to reach behind and release the middle clip using your hand (very easy). The hard part comes releasing the two clips that hold the pedal to the floor. I bent my small screwdriver to make reaching the clips easier. (See picture) You can release one at a time. The entire process is done by feel...you can't see the releases. Amazingly enough, they will release. You need to pull up on the pedal while you push the releases toward you.
The clutch and brake pedal are easy...just remove the rubber pads; drill the holes; and install the aluminum pedals. The clutch is really easy since the entire assembly is plastic. All mounting hardware is included.
I paid $58 for the entire setup.
