: Is there a major difference between the Dinan cold air intake and the ECIS intake? I noticed that Dinan advertises 11hp and 7lb torque gain while the ECIS unit has 5hp and 2lb torque gains. Are the gains noticable? Any info would help. I have a 2000 323ci. Thanks.

The Dinan intake gives you better gains because they also get stage 2 software upgrade...total cost: maybe $900 installed?? The ECIS replaces the airbox with the filter much higher but shielded...no extra software upgrade, so the hp will be lower. I didn't like the Dinan setup because in order to replace the filter, you need to remove the front bumper. The ECIS is much easier to replace the filter. The best way to go might be ECIS and Dinan stage 1 software. Go full Dinan if you want the carbon fiber look. Your choice.
