Well, Friday I picked up my new 328i and besides the decline in the stock market it was a near perfect day ( sunny, 70 degrees, etc).
My new 328i is as follows:

Step Tronic
First of all, delivery was terrific. Car had 4 miles and after full inspection, it was flawless ( as expected). After reading this board, you hear all sorts of stories.
A few words on the step trans. It clearly wasn't my first choice (wife doesn't drive std. and there are times I need her sport ute.). I have come to realize that most 5 speed owners kind of make light of this transmission. While I don't think it offers the feel and control of a 5 speed, I strongly feel that this option adds another element to your everyday automatic and is probably underappreciated.
The ride is outstanding. While I wish I would have been able to order the Sport Package with 17 in wheel ( not practical for me), I am impressed with the solid feel that is accompanied by the quick and nimble attitude of this car. This cars road handling abilities should be patented !!
So far I have been able to put this car hard into a couple of curves and I feel completely at ease that it will do the work and get me through to the straights.
Looking forward to getting to know this car a little bit better and adding a couple of miles.
