You can feel it very easily. Think about how a Natuzzi sofa feels--at $1700 you've got some pretty top notch buttery leather. When you order a leather package in a car, and not just BMW, you get the lowest grade on the seating surfaces only.

As I understand it a Porsche can be ordered with any/all pieces in real leather. A buddy claimed his Carrera had optional leather sun visors and seatbacks. I know zero about the Carerra but it felt genuine.

If you're in doubt, touch the material.
