328 a bit underpowered? (archive)

I know it's all what one is used to. To me, this is a great, but smallish, engine. Also, I suspect the car is heavier than the E36. My 540i can, of course, move in a hurry and, in comparison, the 328i seems a bit slow off the mark. But I want the 328 as it is smaller and should handle better. Any others craving a bit more power? Any real alternatives - does the Dinan software provide enough or would one need a supercharger?
