What's happening is the air is travelling over the top of your car and then it finds an opening in the moonroof and tries to enter the car, however the air literally 'bounces' off the pressure already in the car and creates that deafening noise because the car cabin is pretty air tight. I had the same problem in my old car. Rolling down the back windows a few inches takes care of it.: Hi! I installed the oem wind deflector this afternoon to cure some of those wind noise when the moonroof if fully retracted, well the wind noise was gone but it was replaced by a deafening sound, does anyone with the wind deflector installed have the same problem? It goes away when you open one of the window slightly open, is it really designed to do this?
