You have spent good money on a piece of Bavarian engineering that has been specifically designed for Autobahn driving.

Long drives are really where you will learn to appreciate all the finer details in you car.

It's different if you were going abroad. I'm coming to LA/Bay area next week and unfortunately will be hiring a normal car, but there is no way that I would hire a car here in England if I was going long distance. In fact I have been thinking of going on a driving holiday in mainland Europe, and if I did there would be no question of taking any other car than my 323Ci. That is even taking into account of the fact that they drive on the wrong side of the road.

As for a bra. I have only ever seen people use them in N.America. Never seen one in Europe. Let's face it, they make your beutiful bimmer look plain ugly. That is a simple fact of life that one has to be realistic about. If you keep a safe distance away from the car in front of you, you can prevent most stone chips on the front. Anyway, drive the car for a couple of years then get all the chips removed in one go by the dealer. Small cost involved and better than driving an ugly car
