Just my opinion here of course....

I would not worry about driving the car in conditions mentioned. It will be just fine.

Also, you should enjoy the car considering what you have paid for it. No garage queen bit etc. etc.

As for the bra issues, I do not know but I can tell you one thing. Unless I live in an extreme truck intensive route, I would not use it just because I do not want to be driving a car in a manner that has me saving it for the next owner. Sort of like never showing one's handsome face off to the world because one fears damage from the sun. Well, at what point does one stop doing it - when one is dead? Of course one wants to protect oneself in certain extreme situations and this is what I mean by an extremely truck intensive route. As for me, I just am a bit careful in certain areas and when driving behind trucks.

Alarm is probably a good idea but I do not know of any brands.

Whatever you decide be sure to remember to enjoy.
Cheers

PS.: Other issues to consider may be whether you will be in any area where car is more likely to be stolen.

: I live in the Bay Area and will be going to LA and Las Vegas this summer for vacation w/my parents. Do you guys think that it would be wiser for me to rent a car or drive my 328Ci? I really want to enjoy driving my own car but am a bit skeptical whether the trip will somewhat be detrimental to the car? It's going to take approx. 10-11 hours drive from here to Vegas, not to mention the hot weather (I mean EXTREMELY HOT) during June-July.

: Also, if I do decide to drive my own car, should I invest in a bra? If yes, which brand should I get...I heard that Colgan is good...?! I'm really worried with paint chips due to little rocks flying around. Will it cause any discoloration to the paint?

: Lastly, what about V1? hehe...I've been wanting to purchase this alarm since weeks ago but somehow just couldn't justify the high price ($399). What are your thoughts on this.

: Thank you all for your replies, I greatly appreciate it :-)
