Hey, I'm not trying to bash you or anything (I have never bashed anyone). But I was comparing similar cars. By that I meant a 323i manual vs 323i step. Or 328Ci manual vs 328Ci step for example. The 328 is quite a bit faster than the 323. I would agree that your 328i step is probably faster than my 323i manual. But then again mine was $7000 less : )

Anyway, automatics and manumatics (like step) are just not my cup of tea. But I have nothing against those who like them. That is just a personal choice, I am not so bigotted that I can't get along with step users. My only point is that nobody should argue that the step is the faster transmission on a racetrack. If you disagree with me there, I don't know what to tell you except maybe to ask any person who has raced cars. And of course a steptronic is NOT a clutchless manual, paddle shift tranny as used in F1 racing and Ferrari's F1 system. Those are just sequential manuals with a computer controlled clutch. Steptronic is an automatic that lets you override the internal logic (unless you are about to do something bad).

Anyway, that is my point.

Rudy
