Had a great time - meeting some guys who I was only used to seeing in name only...having a good lunch to start it out.

Ride up was more scary than ride down backside. There were some cliff edges where your lane is on
outside, making talking on TalkAbouts (which we brought and used!) a little difficult. But, MAN was it beatiful. Half the way up to the Observatory, Yev (in the M3) realizes that he is
not going to make it up the hill and the additional 50 miles from there to the next gas station. He has to go back to town and gas up. The rest of us head up the mountain to Lick Observatory, where we take a 1/2 hour tour.
Yev catches back up with us, we take some photos, and head down the backside to Livermore. This 50 mile drive was a BLAST. We were jamming through these twisty (some 180 degree turns) roads, and I was on the tail of a brand new Orient Ci, driving my own Ci, with an M3 on my ass!! Kris was the lead car, and with the most guts, gas and experience, was usually way out in front of us. We lost Cary soon after leaving the Observatory. Cary, I hope you made it home safely...

Most of us (me included) said this was the most fun we have had driving our Bimmers....

Lessons learned....bring drink, camera and GAS !!!

Kris L - great photos...I love that Nikon 990!!

Regards,
