Yah, it could use some help...

But it's really not bad. The midrange is decent and non-fatiguing, which is the most important. The highs and the lows taper off pretty rapidly, but at least the system isn't trying for more than it's capable.

My honest opinion is that the standard HK upgrade is questionable. The speaker drivers are upgraded and subs are added, but the former provides more detail that the head unit/amp can't provide (in fact I'd prefer it be kept hidden) while the latter don't integrate especially well.

I would spend money first on the head unit (I'm not 100% sure but I assume the head unit contains the cd player and the amplification), then on a good quality, fast sub, and finally on upgrading the midrange and treble drivers. I'm a source-first kinda guy =)

Any chance of getting some decent tube electronics in a car?? =P

just my opinion,
glyphin
