Improving 323 engine sound (archive)

What mods would make the car have that rumble sound, like what you hear driving a Z3?

Do I need to replace exhaust or will a cone filter do the trick. The stock engine sound is too quiet and not sporty enough.

Need you opinions on whether to stick with stock or do some mods.
