I love black, but will never buy a black car because it show every little swirl and nick and scatch, and it would drive me nuts. What probably happened is a punk 15 year old kid detailed your car out in the sun and put some swirl marks on it. I would use Meguire's step 2 Polish and follow up with Meguires Gold Class liquid Wax. That should get the swirls out a little. I wash with Meguire's car wash and a clean wash mitt. Make sure the mitt is clean, after I done and before I start, I always take the hose to the mitt and make sure no dirt in there. Keep car wet while washing it and avoid washing in the sun. When you wax, especially with a black car, use small circles to put on and take off. The swirls are going to be there but smaller. keep folding the cloth your using to wax, to avoid swirls. There is a website, I thing www.carcareonline.com that may help. Good luck Help!
: My black 323 isn't even 2 weeks old, and has only been washed by the dealer. I took a close look and can see a number of very small scratches (it normally happens but should take longer and many more washes for this to happen). I was wondering if BMW has some sort of cleaner or dealer process where they can restore the clearcoat. Should I polish it? Please let me know and I'll appreciate it a lot. Could you also let me know what method you guys use to wash the car and how often you wax/polish/etc.
: Thanks!
