Factory E46s do not have tint on the windows. That greenish color you see on your windows is the film for the tempered safety glass. This film prevents the glass from exploding upon impact. I thought the same thing until I spoke to a few different tint shops as well as a few BMW reps.

: The front window auto tinting does sound cool. My stupid dealer told me no special tinting (or even special orders) were possible. Did you order this car in the USA (or North America)?

: I know that the moonroof comes tinted form the factory but I did not know that the side and rear windows were. I special ordered a UV changing front windsheild from BMW that tints it's self as it is exposed to the sun, works really well and is really cool, (no pun intended).
