: I've used Meguire wax and polish and cleaner now for the past 4-5 years. I just started with the car wash stuff. I know zymol is probably better, but Meguire wax is very good and a lot cheaper. I do have to say that it doesn't last as long as some waxes, but that only affects people who only wax their cars once a year. I doubt anyone on this board waxes their car any less than 3-4 times a year. Also, I read the comsumers report acticle, they had Meguire wax down further than I figured it would be, but if you look at the ratings, I don't understand why they didn't have it higher. The most important things for me with a wax is that it is easy to put on and take off and that it will not be so harsh that it can scratch my car. Meguire's had a solid red I believe in both of those. There were a couple waxes above them that had a half black circle for scratching car. What the hell, I'd never buy that, sure Meguire's may not last as long but it has the qualities I'm looking for. I did recently use some Turtle wax on my sister's '99 Cougar and it seemed pretty good, it was weird seeing the green rags.

Wow. I know there are tons of more expensive waxes out there, and I plan to try one or two, especially the "hand" waxes (maybe a zymol product? recommendations, anyone?). But Meguire's car wash, followed by Gold Class wax, with Endurance High Gloss tire dope, really made the Bavarian Princess glitter.

: Not bad for "discount store-priced" products. Had light rain this morning. I love that beaded-up water on the new wax....

: : I love black, but will never buy a black car because it show every little swirl and nick and scatch, and it would drive me nuts. What probably happened is a punk 15 year old kid detailed your car out in the sun and put some swirl marks on it. I would use Meguire's step 2 Polish and follow up with Meguires Gold Class liquid Wax. That should get the swirls out a little. I wash with Meguire's car wash and a clean wash mitt. Make sure the mitt is clean, after I done and before I start, I always take the hose to the mitt and make sure no dirt in there. Keep car wet while washing it and avoid washing in the sun. When you wax, especially with a black car, use small circles to put on and take off. The swirls are going to be there but smaller. keep folding the cloth your using to wax, to avoid swirls. There is a website, I thing www.carcareonline.com that may help. Good luck

: : : My black 323 isn't even 2 weeks old, and has only been washed by the dealer. I took a close look and can see a number of very small scratches (it normally happens but should take longer and many more washes for this to happen). I was wondering if BMW has some sort of cleaner or dealer process where they can restore the clearcoat. Should I polish it? Please let me know and I'll appreciate it a lot. Could you also let me know what method you guys use to wash the car and how often you wax/polish/etc.

: : : Thanks!
