Pike's Slip is one of those streets one can pass all the time and not notice it. Most people only know it because down where it intersects with the FDR, there's a large Pathmark ------- like one would expect to see in the suburbs. (free underground parking too!)Anyway, the Hong-Kong market is up one block, just opposite the Mobil station where the M15 makes its right turn to cut thru Chinatown. The HK market is authentic in every way.
BTW, check out Yaohan's by water's edge on the Jersey side for an equally good source for Japanese food ingredients.
