Also, stuff from Ikea fits well, though the pass through is so narrow that anything more than 12 inches tall is right out. I wouldn't buy a car without folding seats, personally (convertibles aside).
The heated seats are quite nice in the winter. I love the sunroof, and also dig the HK. I concur that in the city, Xe headlights are not worth the extra cost (especially when you see the cost to repair one when it breaks).
When I order my 330 (assuming I don't get waylaid by an M3), I think I'll spec it exactly as my 323 is: SP, roof, HS, CD and HK.
: Things I like:
: 1. Heated seats, eventhough my current E46 does not have them. I used to have them on a E36 I had. and Eventhoug I live in South Florida they were worth the extra cost on cool winter nights with the windows down. Also pretty nice when leaving the gym.
: 2. Xenons- I know there is a lot of discussion on these. If you live in a city and only drive in the city I wouldn't bother, but if you are anywhere where there are no street lights (ie: the country) they are tremendous.
: Not necessary (IMO):
: 1. Fold down seats- sure every once in a while there is something I would like to get in the car and the fold down seats would help, but every time I did it in my E36 (Two different E36s actually) no matter how many towels, blankets, etc, something always got scratched. The back of the front seats, the sides of the rear seats, was not worth the convenience.
:
: I kept my E46 at just the Sport Package, Leather, Xenons, and Moonroof. It came in with the HK and that has been replaced with my own personal stereo equipment. I don't miss any other options that I did not get, most of which I had on other BMWs. If BMW is reading I do miss the Full Trip Computer that I had in my E30 and E34.
