IMHO, exhaust will be better than CAI. At least, that's the route i've choosen on recommendation of my local performance guys (AutoMotives) and CCA members. I've got a K&N and Racing Dynamics exhaust, but haven't yet gone for the CAI or software (and not sure if I will or not).

If you hadn't included "performance" meaning (i assumed) engine, I would have said sway bars. No change in ride quality, and massive increase in handling.
