I thought the CAI means a heat shield & "cone filter". So by just using a K&N filter, am I getting some of benefits of a CAI.

Are your feeling the improved performance at low or higher rpms.

TIA

is always a K&N filter. Cheap (~$20) and a noticable difference.

IMHO, exhaust will be better than CAI. At least, that's the route i've choosen on recommendation of my local performance guys (AutoMotives) and CCA members. I've got a K&N and Racing Dynamics exhaust, but haven't yet gone for the CAI or software (and not sure if I will or not).
