Do I make < 2x the cost of my 328i? Yes. I leased it. Do I make sacrifices in other areas? Absolutely. I'm traveling on business about 50% of the time, so living in a lavish apartment isn't necessary. Here in the Bay Area, the MEAN house price is $416k, so that's waay out of reach anyhow.

I rent a very small place so I can afford a more extravagant lifestyle. I drive a BMW. I'm probably going to buy a motorcycle next weekend. When I see something in a store I want, I buy it.

Keep in mind that I also invest 10-20% of my income and have no debt (other than the car lease, if you count that as debt).

For the time being, I'm living the life.
