There is no reason to pay a prep fee. This is a tack on by the dealer and should be refused. There is a $570 destination charge (shipping fee) that is charged by BMW. This you have to pay.


We've made all the arrangements to pick up our car in Spartanburg. We bought our car in Florida. On the car's pricing, it says we have to pay $350 for 'dealer prep' charges (i.e. them washing it, etc.)

Since we're not picking the car up at the dealer, we should not have to pay this, right?
