Bilstein shocks? (archive)

I plan on installing H&R springs on the 330Ci when I get it (dropping the ride height a bit, and putting 19" rims on). I was told that I really should change the shocks too.
Is it necessary to get Bilstein shocks (or anything similar) if installing H&R lowering springs? Or is the sport suspension shocks good enough?
