Your right, I was doing all that, but he did decide to pick on the more "expensive" car. There were two cars going that fast, its kinda funny that he would pick a mercedes driver with dark skin, over a crappy car with a white driver. I'm not going to sue him for any underlying hate or dislike he may have, but it is a little obvious. Also, the county is a known redneck area and many of my friends have been pulled over while driving at the speed limit (not what I was doing) in the area. I was stupid not to slow down, or take another car, or get my skin bleached, but that's my loss. Was I the victim? To a certain extent it upsets me that I was pulled over. I drive about 200 miles a day, 5 days a week at speeds regularly over the limit. I am always aware of what is and isn't going on around me, and I have never been in an accident (ever). However, everyday I see stupid people doing stupid things on the road. Yes, my speeding could is in the stupid catagory, but I only do it when there are few or no other cars on the road and where their is amble shoulder space. Do you know how many times people make erratic and dangerous lane changes while chatting on the phone? Or cut you off and don't hear the horn cause they have the stereo blasting? Or a mother struggling with her kids swaying between lanes? Or cruising in the fast lane 10-15MPH below the speed limit when the rest of the road is open? I can go on... I feel that since those people don't get tickets even when a cop is right there -- its not a just system. The cop gave me the ticket at the end of his day, he has a quota to fullfil from which he will enventually benefit from the violation funds (i don't car if its directly or indirectly). Do I feel like I victim? No, just wanted some advice on what to do. I'm not pleading my case to you, nor do I care to.
All I said above is for the one ticket I have gotten in my entire life (no accidents ever mind you), I can point out with videotape evidence about 10-15 drivers on the 200 miles I drive each day that deserve a traffic violation.
Case closed!
