I had a "bubble" on the sidewall of a tire on my Z28. It was a Goodyear Eagle ST. I quickly took the car to the Goodyear center (1/2 mile away) and they replaced it under warentee.

I'd recommend getting the car to your dealer ASAP so they can make a determination as to whether or not the bump is comprimising the integrety of your tire. In fact, I might just call BMW's road side assistance and have them come out to put on the spare before going in to your dealer. As we've learned recently, a tire failure at highway speeds can cause a serious accident.
