A few posts down it was mentioned that larger brake rotors don't shorten stopping distance, and their main advantage is that they are less likely to warp. Is this right? If so, how come cars w/ identical tires and similar weights have different stopping distances?And how is it that the M5, which weighs nearly 2 tons, stops nearly as well as a porsche? I am sure the tire compound has something to do with it but I would think that rotor size and swept area is also involved...
