I recently drove a steptronic through the Rocky Mountains, and must say that I was VERY impressed with it.

Up until that point, I had been considering a manual, but now, it's Steptronic for sure. I was driving aggressively (the dealer's car!) through steep inclines and sharp turns, and the Steptronic did exactly what I wanted it to (I was in Sport mode most of the time, but Normal was OK, too). It downshifted to keep the engine in a nice RPM range at all times and gave me significant "punch" when I wanted it. It really allowed me to concentrate on driving rather than mucking with shifting constantly due to the rapid changes in the road.

That said, my car will have Steptronic when I order it.

Mike
