Agree with your reasoning and think that BMW should have made a switch for DRLs so we could decide when to use them. Sometimes, like when driving in the woods I'd have them on, but in the city - no way, they look ugly. JMHO :)

BTW, if you have Xenons, they don't put more strain on your alternator, but a lot less. Those lights are way more energy efficient. :)And if you forget to turn them off, the sound will remind you. :)
