I wanted to set mine to on, but my dealer pointed out that with the car memory set, there was no way I could ever have them off. A rather farfethced but possible example would be - you're driving at night - being followed, and want to conceal where you are. Without switching off the engine - you couldn't turn off the DRLs.

Whenever I drive, I always switch them on.

I think it's a great idea to use DRL or keep your regular low-beams on during the day, even when it's sunny out. (Actually, *especially* when it's sunny out--sometimes the shadows created by trees are so contrasty they can make other cars temporarily disappear from your vision--the DRL on such cars makes them more visible.)

I used to think it was hokey, but now I'm a firm believer. And personal experience confirms it for me: far fewer drivers pull out in front of me when I have my headlights on during the day. (And I have a red car--imagine the visibility improvement on a silver car!)

You could just turn your headlights on yourself, but you may often forget, and it puts more strain on the alternator than the DRL would.

with the car memory
did you set your car to have the driving lights
on or off?

just wondering
