In Reply to: Why is there no light under the hood of a 330i? posted by David on September 10, 2000 at 21:22:50:

I was just curious. I noticed there was a pin switch in the engine compartment, and just thought it was possible that there should be one and it was just left off or something. I definitely have not forgotten this is a German automobile, it's far superior to any American or Japanese car I've owned, in every aspect. It's not anything I'm going to loose any sleep over, but I thing there should be a light. Granted, I'm not going to be driving at night and decide to pull over and change the spark plugs, but what if the check oil light comes on? Yes, I know there is the light in the glove box, but wouldn't it be easier to check if there were a light under the hood. It usually takes two hands to steady a dip stick enough to check it.
