As long as the transmission isn't under load, you can pull it out of gear harmlessly. In fact, even if it is under load, you can yank it out (it will be harder to pull though). I like the clutch though...

You can park in any gear, or no gear. Just use the brake.

If you want to use a gear as a secondary brake, use FIRST or REVERSE to park.
